MULTAN, Pakistan – The police in Pakistan have arrested about 300 followers of a detained radical Islamic cleric who disturbed daily life with nationwide rallies after the liberation of a Christian woman sentenced to death for blasphemy.
Supreme police chief Tahir Mahmood said on Saturday that followers of the Tehreek-Labbaik party were caught in the sweep of the Punjab province after the arrest of their leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi.
The police arrested also points of Rizvis supporters as you walked in the streets to protest against his abuse at night.
Rizvis supporters held violent rally against the highest court on October 31, free Aasia Bibi. He has demanded more protests on Sunday in the capital Islamabad.
Pakistan’s hard Islamists have threatened to kill anyone who insults Islam or speaks to the blasphemy law.
