Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert was injured late in the first half of Duck’s 55-15 victory over the rival Oregon state in the “Civil War” and did not return to action. The junk dropped for a 9-yard loss by Doug Taumoelau and Shemar Smith with less than five minutes to go and seemed to arrive to favor his shoulder. He was replaced in the first half by Tyler Shough, and Braxton Burmeister took the snaps in the other half for the ducks.
After the match, coach Mario Cristobal took his star quarterbacks injury and status forward.
Herbert left with the ducks 21-3 at Beavers. He was 9 out of 12 for 102 yards and a 21-yard touchdown pass to run back CJ Verdell. He was looking at a wagon while leaving the changing room.
A Draft Junior, Herbert is ranked No. 20 in Total and No. 3 among quarterbacks in CBS Sports & NFL Prospects. He has thrown for 2,985 meters, 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2018. His status for Oregon bowl games is unknown right now because he is waiting for further tests.
