OnePlus switches up to release a new smartphone, OnePlus 7, and it has reached the point of its hype cycle where the company has begun a slow spread of information every single day. The latest news is the actual start date. OnePlus holds a launch event on May 14 in several cities, and even sells events to the event to the public.

For this year’s flagship release, OnePlus actually announces two phones: OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Professionals. While many companies release two phones with identical designs in two different sizes, this is not the case. OnePlus supplies two different phones with different designs.

We have already seen some of OnePlus 7 Pro. In March we published an all-screen OnePlus phone with a pop-up camera and three cameras. Then we called it OnePlus 7, but this is actually OnePlus 7 Pro.

The other device, OnePlus 7, apparently seems more than a little like OnePlus 6T. Renders from OnLeaks show a device with a teardrop front camera and two rear cameras. One good theory is that the usual old OnePlus 7 would strive to provide a good, basic advanced smartphone with a low ice price. OnePlus 7 Pro would then be the advanced device filled with new and expensive features.

Now about the OnePlus 7 Pro exclusive features. A OnePlus teaser claims that the company’s new phone will be ” Fast and Smooth ” and in an interview with The Verge, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that Pro would get a new screen that was three times more expensive than display used on previous models. A report from Android Central claims that this is referred to a 1440p, 90Hz screen that comes to OnePlus 7 Pro. Normal smartphone appears at 60Hz (60 frames per second), but lately we have seen devices like the iPad Pro and the Razor Phone 2 ship with a 120Hz display. With the display running at 90Hz and the software reproduced at 90 frames per second, you will get smooth scrolling and gameplay, but it comes to a battery cost. The Android Central report also lists a 4000mAh battery for pro and 30W fast charging.

OnLeaks claims that the display of the Pro is 6.64 inches, which would make it larger than the 6.4-inch display on OnePlus 6T. He argues that the triple rear camera setting has a 48MP primary camera, a telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens, which would be quite standard. OnLeaks also pointed out the presence of a third OnePlus 7 variant (OnePlus 7 Pro 5G) which was later confirmed in The Verges interview.

Regarding the regular OnePlus 7, Onenders makes it similar to OnePlus 6T with a slightly tweaked rear camera setup. The screen size is the same 6.4 inch, it still has the camera of the camera, and it will have a glass back. It looks like a spec-bumped OnePlus 6T.

Like all other phones this year, both versions of OnePlus 7 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 855 SoC, with a maximum of 10 GB of RAM for the best version (probably only Pro). The in-display optical fingerprint reader will return, and wireless charges are still not reported.

As the host of the Android world, the big question will be the price of OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. OnePlus One originally started at $ 300, and since then the price has gone up every year. Will OnePlus 7’s reused design bring the price to the same? How much more expensive will Pro be? We will be at the event on May 14 to find out.
