WAVERLY, Ohio ̵
1; A fugitive inmate is back in custody after being soaked in a whirlpool of an Ohio senior living community still wearing her yellow prison clothes.
The Pike County Sheriff Office says that the 34-year-old woman fled while booking on drug deposit fees Tuesday. She was detained by the sheriff and the local police chief several hours later when a 911 caller reported the woman who was in the hot tub at an older community’s activity center in Waverly, about 60 miles south of Columbus.
The authorities have not explained how or why the woman ended up there. A message that sought further comment was filed on Wednesday for the sheriff.
His office says the woman is guilty of felony escape in addition to the initial charges for alleged heroin possession.
