SAN DIEGO (AP) – The Ian Book threw itself 330 yards and two touchdowns, Dexter Williams ran for 1

42 yards and three points and No. 3 Notre Dame overwhelmed Navy 44-22 on Saturday night to remain undefeated and in the playoffs.

JaFar Armstrong added a rushing touchdown for Fighting Irish. They are 8-0 for the first time since 2012 when they remained unanswered until directed by Alabama in the BCS national title game.

Notre Dame had 584 meters of total crime because it expanded its dominance in the oldest continuous crossing to 78-13-1.

For the first time played in San Diego the first time Notre Dame used his superior size and talent to take a lead of 27-0 just before half time. While the defense retained Navy’s triple options in control, the book was remarkably effective as he held the midshipman off-balance with lots of play action. He completed 27 of 33 passes, to 10 recipients. He threw a whistle.

Williams was 23 times.

Navy came third in the nation with 309.4 meters rush per game and had 292 against Notre Dame. Malcolm Perry had 133 meters on 12 berries.

The game, which attracted an audience of 63,626 to SDCCU Stadium, was promoted by the San Diego Bowl Game Association.

TAKEAWAY

Notre Dame: After gathering to beat Pitt and save his season, the fighting Irishman had a week to prepare for the triple trip options. It showed that the Midshipmen could not get anything until the second half, when they were long after.
