1; Authorities are called in a mobile DNA lab and anthropologists to help identify the dead the search was for victims of the most destructive fire in California history. The total death benefit from fires at both ends of the state stood at 25th Sunday and seemed likely to increase.

Everyone said that more than 8,000 firefighters fought three big fires burning over 400 square kilometers in northern and southern California, with out-of-state crews that continued to arrive and gusty, the blisters made their return.

The worst of the blisters was in northern California, where flames reduced the city of Paradise, the population of 27,000, to a smoking ruin days ago and continued to rage in surrounding communities. The number of people killed in that fire alone, at least 23, made it the third deadliest on record in the state.
