The Nokia X6, and among other things, has come to steal the throne atas the most filtered smartphone so far this year. HMD Global has wanted to start a new line of phones, which although at first it will be exclusive to the Chinese market, sooner or later, it will probably end up landing in other regions of the planet.
The new Finnish terminal had already made headlines in recent weeks, and most of its details have long ceased to be a mystery. Even so, Nokia has brought us together in China to introduce us to their new member of the segment premium of the mid-range , which stands out for combining a striking design, with specifications worthy of the best mid-range of 2018. This is the Nokia X6.
First of all, sorry for the easy joke. HMD Global did not want to stay out of the market trends, already experimented at first with the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco to create terminals whose screen frames were narrowing more and more, and this Nokia X6 is – for now – the culmination of the Finnish in terms of design.
The body of the terminal is formed by two glass panels, rear and front that occupy up to 95 of the whole body, surrounded by an aluminum chassis which houses the physical buttons, the USB port Type C and 3.5 mm jack, and the hybrid slot for micro SD and nano SIM cards. From the rear stands out the inclusion of a fingerprint reader, as well as a dual camera that we will talk about later.
Meanwhile, the front is occupied almost entirely by a 5.8 inch IPS Full HD + panel with 19: 9 aspect ratio, whose edges are adjusted to the limits of the front to get more than 80% occupation by the screen. At the top, as we already knew, the famous as well as controversial ‘notch’, responsible for housing the front camera, the loudspeaker and the other necessary sensors, makes an appearance.
Under the glass hood of this Nokia X6, one of the processors of last batch of the Californian Qualcomm awaits us. Its about Snapdragon 636, an eight-core chip Kryo 260 and 14 nanometers , which runs at a maximum frequency of 1.8 GHz. This, added to the 4 or 6 GB of RAM with which the device arrives, it ensures us a more than comfortable performance in most situations.
When it comes to storing content we find 32 64 GB, expandable through microSD card up to 256 GB. To keep the lights on, a 3.060 mAh battery compatible with Qualcomm’s fast charging technology in version 3.0.
Being a model originally oriented to the Chinese market, we forgot Android One for once and we found a signature personalization layer , that despite not having too many add-ons, it does move away from the experience AOSP to which the Finnish has accustomed us with her international models. Even so, Android 8.1 Oreo is the version that runs through the circuits of the Nokia X6.
In terms of photography, the Nokia 6 adopts a dual system as its brothers did, the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco. They are two 16 and 5 megapixel sensors those that reign the back of the terminal, with integrated HDR algorithm that promises to improve the final quality of the photographs through the combination of several captures.
Of the selfies a unique 16-megapixel sensor, equipped with artificial intelligence to enable a portrait mode which Nokia baptizes as Intelligent 3D blur . In addition, this front sensor can be used for both Bothie mode, and to unlock the terminal with the user’s face.
