A building in New York City containing CNN was evacuated because of a bomb shot on Thursday night, but no devices were found, according to police and journalists on the network.
Police Department in New York tweeted that a bomb shot was called the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle, where CNN is located and that the police sought the building. The department gave “all ready” just before midnight and said it was reopened.
The police said in the first place that the threat was done at 10:35, but corrected it and the officials responded to the call at 10:07 A police spokesman said there was a link between threats that there were five units planted around the building , and a NYPD sergeant in consultation with CNN security decided to evacuate the building as a precautionary measure.
Brian Stelter, a journalist for the network said on Twitter that the offices were evacuated and CNN went into taped programming. CNN host Don Lemon tweeted “We were evacuated in the middle of my live show” because of a bomb shot.
CNN went to programming from another place and lemon said in a phone call with the net that threatened not only his threat, but “it also bothered the whole neighborhood.” *
In October, CNN was targeting a wave of pipe bombs sent to the network, as well as to outstanding critics by President Donald Trumf. None of the units exploded and there were no damage.
The suspect, Cesar Sayoc, Florida, was arrested and accused of more than 30 federal bills, including the use of a mass destruction weapon, and he faces prison if they were convicted.
“It’s kind of a repetition situation for what we went through in October,” Lemon told CNN.
On Thursday night just after 22:00, Trump drummed “FAKE NEWS – HUMAN!” Trump often uses the term to deny some media organizations, including CNN. It seems like tweet was made around 10:08, which would make it a minute after the police said they responded to the call.
