Here is the AP Round:
] Justin Tucker missed the first transformation of his career after Baltimore Ravens made it possible to connect 24 seconds left in response to a strong fourth quarter by Drew Brees and New Orleans Saints fled with a 24-23 victory Sunday.
Brees threw two touchdown passes, locked up two more milestones and designed a comeback that allowed the Saints (5-1) to wipe out a 10-point deficit.
It was 24-17 before Joe Flacco directed a 24-hour run that covered 81 meters and ended with a 14-yard touchdown pass to John Brown.
Obviously overtime, because Tucker had linked 112 straight extra points and was the only NFL kicker without miss because the position of the ball was moving back in 2015. He made the first 222 trials of his career.
However, this attempt was far right – the crucial moment in a matchup between NFL’s highest score and top-ranking defense.
Brees took back the Saints from a 10-point deficit against a unit that allowed only 12 second half-points throughout the season. The 39-year-old quarterback threw a 5-yard TD pass to Michael Thomas at 4:58 left to bring New Orleans forward 21-17, and the Saints climbed on a field goal just before warning for two minutes.
In the past, Brees threw his 500th career-touchdown pass, which connects with Benjamin Watson’s tight legs for a 1-yard point to put New Orleans up 7-3 in the second quarter.
The NFL leader in career crossing yardage, Brees joined Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Brett Favre as the only quarterback in league history with 500 TD passing.
In addition, Brees beat the Ravens for the first time. Formerly 0-4 against Baltimore, Brees is one of three quarterbacks – together with Favre and Manning – to defeat every team in the league.
Brees went 22 to 30 for 212 meters. Against a defense that made 11 sacks one week earlier in Tennessee, Brees released the restrained Baltimore rush, except for a fourth quartz bag of Terrell Suggs.
Joe Flacco finished 23 of 39 passes for 279 meters for Ravens 4-3) including a 56-yarder to Brown who set up a 1-yard touchdown run by rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson for a 10-7 half-time lead.
An 8-yard pass from Flacco to Rookie tight than Mark Andrews putting Ravens forward 17-7 by 3:30 in the third quarter.
ALL FOR NOTHING
After conversion of three fourths during the opening series – including a successful fake point – New Orleans misfired on its fourth attempt of the device.
New Orleans held the ball for 20 games and 9 minutes, 58 seconds. But the Saints got away empty when the backstartback Taysom Hill fumbled fourth on the 4th of Baltimore.
It was the longest run to result in no points since Browns went 9:59 against the jets in the first week of the 2015 season.
Entering the game, Baltimore opponents were 0 to 4 in fourth.
Saints: Guard Josh LeRibeus left with an injury injury in the second quarter.
] Ravens: OL Bradley Bozeman left in the second quarter with a left calf injury, returned to action and left again in the fourth quarter. … CB Marlon Humphrey (thigh), OL Alex Lewis (neck), OL James Hurst (back) was on the inactive list.
