Weezer
has finally announced the release date for their forthcoming The Black Album set for March 1, 2019, via Atlantic. With the message, the second single came from the album, “Zombie Bastards”.

Black Album is the band’s 12th studio album and was produced by Dave Sitek on TV on Radio. It marks for the first time that a Weezer album has been written entirely on the piano by frontman Rivers Cuomo and has long been waiting for literally years to retard his arrival. Check out the album art below.

“Zombie Bastards” is instrumentally quite optimistic and sunshine-y, given what Cuomo is singing about. On its surface, the path seems to survive the zombie apocalypse with the power of music. There is probably a deeper meaning where refusing to accept the delayed, thoughtless society you can contemplate life in the 21

st century, but you can decipher it yourself.

The latest version follows the disco-fired “Can not Knock The Hustle”, released last month with a Pete Wentz music film. After the release of the album, the band will launch a North American tour that extends over March and April before going abroad in June.

Check out the “Zombie Bastards” below and look at Paste s 2007 feature at Cuomo, as well as our 2014 feature on Weezer as a whole. Find the band’s upcoming tour dates further down below.
