There has been a leakage week for the upcoming Moto G7 line, and new details about an unannounced G7 Power variant arose today through an FCC filing, first discovered by XDA Developers . The Moto G7 Power is compatible with the Moto G7, G7 Plus and the recently leaked Moto G7 Play as one of the four Moto G units likely to start next year.
Power’s standout feature will clearly be its battery: in filing, Motorola reveals that it will have a capacity of 5,000 mAh. It can also explain why this year the Moto G Play model will have a much smaller battery than usual, as the power seems to go in to fill that role.
For comparison, our review of the Moto G6 Play found that its 4000mAh battery could last about three days of moderate use.
Moto G7 Power may not be so powerful. There are rumors from XDA Developers that the phone will have lower specifications than the G7 standard. G7 Power can be run on a Snapdragon 632 processor like the lower G7 Play device. It has also been regretted that the G7 Power model will be available in four models ranging from 2 GB to 6 GB of RAM, and 32 GB to 64 GB of storage.
Not much else is known about the Moto G7 Power, except that the phone’s dimensions will be slightly wider and longer than the other G7 series devices to accommodate the larger battery.
