Mobvoi announced an addition to its smartwatch lineup at an event in London today: TicWatch C2 (Classic 2). The $ 200 clock runs Wear OS and is equipped with NFC to support Google Pay. It comes in pink gold, black and platinum colors. (The pink gold version is slightly thinner for smaller wrists.) The watch is available for pre-order now and it will start on December 6th.
C2 is the sequel to Mobvoi’s original TicWatch 2, which was first launched on Kickstarter. Mobvi’s first watches ran on its own Android-based operating system and its own voice assistant program before the company made the switch to the Wear OS platform. The updated C2 also has a longer battery life of about two days and an IP68 waterproofing.
C2’s design is much slimmer than the company’s latest smartwatch, TicWatch Pro with dual screens, with its slim fronts of stainless steel and leather straps. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 21
00 chip, which seems like a missed opportunity to see as Qualcomm releases its new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip later this year.
Mobvoi also announced today that its AirPods clone, TicPods Free, is now available online. Earplugs increased over $ 2.8 million on Indiegogo last year and now sell for $ 129.99 in white, blue and red colors. They are compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri, as well as Android and iPhone. Battery life is approximately 18 hours, and a 15-minute charge gives you approximately 85 minutes of listening time.
