The “Crazy Rich Asians” star is negotiating to see her “Discovery” characterized in a new series, as the franchise continues to grow.
CBS All Access plans to grow its Star Trek franchise continues to come into focus.
Crazy Rich Asians Star Michelle Yeoh is in negotiations with the producers CBS Television Studios to see her Star Trek: Discovery signed in its own subscription video demand service series.
Representatives of CBS All Access and CBS TV Studios declined comment.
Yeoh was the first actress in Star Trek: Discovery, the first new series in the franchise this year. The actress, returned in season one of Discovery returns in season two, as the new spin comedy will probably follow her adventures in Starfleet section 31
Should an agreement with Yeoh come through, the series would be the fifth overall in CBS All Access Star Trek Franchise, Associated Discovery, Patrick Stewart-led Picard drama, animated comedy and short format Short Treks. Other series in the franchise are planned under Alex Kurtzman who monitors all Trek for the producers CBS TV Studios.
CBS All Access has recently released two seasons, straight to series animated comedy Star Trek: Lower Decks by Mike McMahan ( Rick and Morty ) and Kurtzman.
