The ship can not seem to be turned in the right direction for Oakland Raiders this season it seems. After falling to 1-5 with a tough 27-3 loss for Seattle Seahawks, various drama started around the team. Trade rumors about Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and Karl Joseph were just the beginning.
And now it seems that Raiders can be without starting to run back Marshawn Lynch for some time. As Athletics Vic Tafur revealed, Lynch is dealing with a light tension that can be a long-term business.
As NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport revealed, Lynch will miss at least one month because of the lung damage.
Following the news, it has led to a few questions specifically from fantasy football owners. If Lynch lacks extended time, it will be between Doug Martin or Jalen Richard to hold the fort. Both players take in two different game styles, but it can either be considered as pickup wires on the surface.
Let’s take a look at which of the two most sensible players to target.
The number of distribution certainly gives the edge of Richard over Martin quite a bit. While Richard has only 11 wearing 32 meters, he has been a force as a catch-catcher. Through six matches, Richard has 31 catches for 253 meters while Martin only has 99 rides on 27 berries. The 29-year-old Martin has not been a factor in the passing game, either, captures only four passes for five meters throughout the year.
When it comes to playing time, what’s really jumping off the page. In week 5, Richard played 51 percent of the snaps compared to 40 and 11 percent for Lynch and Martin, per footballer. Richard’s workload was again high in week 6, when he saw 40 percent of the offensive work compared with Martins 10 percent.
It does not just seem that Richard has the higher side of the two, but he also gets the extended playing time from Gruden and the company. If you are in a 12 or 14 team-points-per-league league, I jump on the chance to retrieve Richard. On the other hand, Martin would see an increase if Lynch is out, so adding him to bigger leagues is good also if you have a roster spot.
Overall, Richard should be the primary fantasy goal if Lynch misses time. 19659004] READ NEXT : Raiders to “Enhance” Offers for Derek Carr in 2019?
