Many Pixel 3 and 3 XL owners have trouble with call quality and connectivity issues

Quite simply, Google's latest pair of flagship phones have had some issues since its inception, and based on reports we've seen, we still have a problem adding to our growing list. Many Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL owners report a wide range of phone call issues, behaviors that cover a range of things from more "basic" audio quality issues such as crooked or inconsistent sound and tinniness for long talk time and intermittent microphone errors. Reports are widespread, with a surprising number of threads posted on both Google's product forum and Reddit. Based on these reports, the problem does not appear to be limited to any carrier or device, with both sizes and apparently several SKUs in several countries experiencing call problems, and the problems appear on both Wi-Fi and mobile calls. For some, disabling advanced or improved mobile operator features, which usually use VoLTE for enhanced voice quality, seems to alleviate the problems for some, but most seem to experience problems regardless of the setting. Those with these call problems claim that the problems may be intermittent, which only affects a fraction of the calls that are made. Problems may also present themselves at the beginning of a call, or they can not enter any of the symptoms for several minutes.

Google has issued RMA replacement equipment for some of the victims, but in many cases the problems remain. Typical troubleshooting methods like factory reset or safe mode obviously have no effect.

Reports alternately claim improved, worsened or unaffected changes as a result of this month’s Pixel spots, but reports continue to occur at the time of writing. 19659003] We’ve come to Google for comments, but have not heard yet. Meanwhile, there is a single problem among an already large list to keep track of as a Pixel 3 or 3 XL owner.
