5th minute, Joel Matip hit a run into the US half and fell on the edge of the area, but Salah curled a free kick far above.

A sharp Liverpool moved to the left ended with an Andrew Robertson cross blinking through the penalty area, and United got ready for an early change, Alexis Sanchez warmed up with Rashford limping.

The home team’s problem was deepened, Herrera suffered a problem with hoarding, and they made a change after 21 minutes, Herrera comes out and Andreas Pereira on.

Rashford, who had shrugged off the previous knock, raced down to the left to start a move that won United a corner, but it came to nothing and a resulting Liverpool counter broke down when Mata removed Salah before Milner was booked for to fouling Paul Pogba.

Mata, who also glued after a knock, must then staple from the action, Lingard replaced him as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a second a forced change before half-hour.

And soon, Liverpool made a substitution, Firmino – who seemed to have suffered a muscle gland – replaced by Daniel Sturridge.

Sturridge tried luck with an optimistic strike from the far, light field of De Gea, before declining a fierce Pogba effort.

Alisson made an outstanding interception when Romelu Lukaku took up possession and threw a passport to Lingard, who disappeared as he tried round goalkeepers.

But when they got to the ball, Lingard suffered – returning from injury – another setback and United had to make his third and final change before the break, Alexis Sanchez replaced him.

Sanchez quickly entered into action that produced a cross from the right that Lukaku met with a downward slope as Alisson held, but the four minutes of add-on at the end of half gave nothing else in the way of opportunity.

Sturridge chased a review I enter the United area during the second half-half hours, just for De Gea to get there first, and then Young’s deep free kick was hit by Pogba, whose headline was already saved with the flag.

A draw down Liverpool right gave Jordan Henderson the chance to cross, but it ricocheted away from a defender, and then saw Rashford out to enter a long ball into the area just for his control to release him.

Rashford scuffed a first try wide after Lukaku had driven out to the right to give the cross, and then Henderson attempted an early ball against Mane but it easily led away enough.

In the 66th minute, Georginio Wijnaldum shot the shot from the edge of the area but dumped miles over, and the same player’s head shortly afterwards declined to safety by Scott McTominay.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made his second change to the game after 71 minutes, Henderson made room for Xherdan Shaqiri and with 15 minutes left United short t held that they had taken the lead – but the flag had arisen before Matip turned the ball into his own goal.

Visitors made their last round when the game approached their last 10 minutes, the Salah off for Divock Origi, and then Young was booked for a trip at Milner after the Liverpool player had spun away from him.

Shaqiri was booked to bring down Rashford when the protocol ticked off, Wijnaldum followed him for a late foul at Young, and then Lukaku earned another cross that just eliminated Chris Smalling at the remote.
