Sunday was a special day for over 50,000 people who participated in the world’s largest marathon, but it was a special day for nurse Kaitlyn Curran. She had just met mile 16 of her first ever marathon when Dennis Galvin, her Jersey City firefighter boyfriend in four years, skipped a barrier and knocked down to propose.
“People in the race slowed down to take pictures. It was indescribable to just be there and see everything was amazing,” said Galvin’s cousin Kathleen Figueroa, who captured the proposal on video, CBS. She added that Curran, who said yes and then ended the marathon, had no idea he would suggest.
What a great news in NYC history, right? Nothing else to see here, right?
