Wednesday night’s episode of “Riverdale” was the last episode, late actor Luke Perry filmed before his unexpected death of a stroke at the age of 52 last month.
In the episode, Fred follows his son, Archie (KJ Apa) to the hospital, where a group of people are waiting for words at his boxing match opponent Randy.
Finally Randy dies and Archie blames herself.
Back at home Archie swears by boxing and confesses he knew his enemy was using drugs.
“Son, from all you have said, it is clear Randy died of these drugs. The openness will support it. You are innocent,” Fred tells his son.
1; a supportive, stalwart figure. Earlier this week, runner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa showed Perry’s last scene and said it was “a beautiful, true moment between a father and his son”.
“Wish these scenes could go on forever …” he wrote.
CW has not said how “Riverdale” will address Fred’s absence ahead.
Aguirre-Sacasa had previously said that this season was dedicated to Perry’s memory.
