Less than four months after announcing it would acquire Blue Microphones, Logitech is trying to make an even bigger purchase: Plantronics. Reuters reports that Logitech offers as much as $ 2.2 billion in hopes of adding the headset to its side. If the negotiations prove successful, a deal can be announced sometime next week, but nothing has been completed.
Plantronics would be Logitech’s most expensive acquisition so far and strengthen the company’s range of PC and mobile accessories. Gaming peripherals have also proved to be a boost for Logitech’s bottom line. According to Reuters, both companies are trying to reduce manufacturing costs and minimize the effects of Trump Administration tariffs on imports from China to the United States. Going together is really a way to do it.
Other accessories. The company’s appropriate earplugs are well-reviewed and Plantronics continues to release traditional Bluetooth earpieces after many other companies have moved from that segment – a sign of footstep in the office environment. According to the company, Neil Armstrong’s famous words conveyed as he walked on the moon’s surface through a Plantronics headset.
Logitech has already spent more on acquisition in 2018 than a year earlier, and it only counts the Blue Agreement.
