LeBron James won two Olympic gold medals playing for Mike Krzyzewski, and the three-time NBA champion has previously referred to the legendary Duke head coach as his favorite.

On Wednesday, James reacted to Coach K’s recent rant on expectations for his star-studded team with a message that might signal LeBron James Jr.’s future college decision.

“Love Coach K !! The absolute BEST! Hope he’s still at the helm when my boy comes up. “

LeBron could simply be stirring the pot, and it’s too soon to tell if his son will even play in college.

By the time LeBron James Jr. finishes his high school career, he might not be required to spend a year in college before jumping to the NBA – assuming he becomes a coveted pro prospect. A change to the NBA’s one-and-done rule is not expected to occur before the 2021 draft.

It should also be noted that Coach K is 71 years old, so he could be eyeing retirement before LeBron James Jr. makes the jump to collegiate or pro basketball.

Bronny visited Duke’s campus and spent time with Zion Williamson over the summer.

Earlier this week, LeBron also said he hopes to one day have the opportunity to share the floor with his son in the NBA, which means James could be planning to play until he’s 40 .
