Juul Labs Inc., the manufacturer of an e-cigarette that is very popular with American teens, has lobbed a second round of disputes against what it says is copycats, even though it is critical of its products being turned into minor consumers.

Juul filed his second patent infringement complaint on Tuesday with the US International Trade Commission and attempted to block the sale of competing e-cigarette devices and nicotine cassettes made by 24 companies, mainly in China and Uruguay. Juul filed a similar complaint against ITC against more than a dozen companies on October 3.

The San Francisco-based company also filed mirror ownership in at least 10 district courts and accused a number of companies of infringing patents for weapon units and cartridges. In Tuesday’s ITC complaint, Juul said the competing products, some of which are pods that are compatible with the Juul e-cigarette, give teenagers easy ways to get pods for use in Juul’s system and should be blocked from American shelves. [19659003] “Copycat JUUL-compatible pods, such as those made by many of the companies listed in the complaint, with flavors clearly marketed for children, violate not only our intangible property but are dangerous, bad for public health and do not share Our mission to improve the life of adult smokers, said Juul Wednesday in a statement.

Although ITC can block imports, it has no chance of awarding damages. If Juul wants to receive cash compensation from patron manufacturers, it must rely on the legal cases that it has submitted, which is likely to be put into operation until the ITC concludes an investigation.

Last week, Juul’s Chief Executive Officer Kevin Burns announced that it ceased selling fruit and post-consumer nicotine bins to stores and closing its US Facebook and Instagram accounts. Moved followed a campaign by the Food and Drug Administration to limit the use of e-cigarettes. Previously, the denn One month, an official in the FDA said the agency would limit the sale of many fruit-crushed nicotine cassettes used in weapon units.

Juul says the company was created to help adult smokers to quit. Users suck on a smooth pen-like device to deliver a powerful hit of vaporized nicotine. The design and high nicotine content has made Juul the best-selling e-cigarette in the United States. During this summer, Juul had captured 68 percent of the US e-cigarette market, according to Nielsen’s data, compiled in a Juul Investor Presentation by Bloomberg.

Eonsmoke LLC, one of the companies named in the October complaint at the ITC, accused Juul of using the agency to shut down competitors so that it could increase prices and said that Juul’s claims that it was about protecting the country’s youth is “misleading and hypocritical.”

The federal trials were filed in Camden, New Jersey; New Haven, Connecticut; Wilmington, Delaware; Rochester, New York; Chicago; Denver; Minnesota; and Tampa, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
