Josh Gordon very not bent. Des Bieler Sports reporters covering national topics and supporting coverage of DC teams 29 October…
Josh Gordon started Monday’s new England Patriots Buffalo Bill game , despite a report earlier in the day that he would be out of the first quarter or so as a punishment for “tardiness.” According to NFL Network Ian Rapoport claiming that broad recipients were “expected” to miss any series that the patriots continue to work with [and] handle him. “
Instead, Gordon was in the field of the first series of game after New England was fired, and he was directed by quarterback Tom Brady on a deep pass that went incompletely after which the team ran. It was left to see what kind of use Gordon would get for the rest of the game, or if the patriots were to comment on the expected discipline report.
In terms of suspensions for Josh Gordon, there had been a relative momentum in relation to the number of games and whole seasons he had put in the past, under the ban of NFL for violations of its substance abuse policy. However, it would also have been remarkable as the first public punishment he met since he was trafficked to New England by Cleveland in week 2.
Since then, the reports about Gordon have been the most postage itiva, indicating that the talented but worried 27 year old benefited from being caught under Brady’s wings. It was probably the exact scenario that the patriots had in mind when awarding Gordon a cabinet right next to the five-hour Super Bowl winning quarterback.
“He has really worked hard and tried to get things right” Brady said earlier this month. “I do not feel like I had to worry about where he was or what he was driving. He was convinced. I could say in his eyes that he knew what he was doing.”
Gordon recently described his new team as “a good space and environment to work, to focus and lock in” where “all purchased.” He added via ESPN), “It’s a place of excellence, so you can do nothing but get involved and help become a part of it.”
Browns did not indicate their reason to trade Gordon for a fifth round draft, but he was reported to have been late for a meeting, and the team allegedly had other concerns about his responsibility. He was already on very thin ice with Cleveland after being eligible to play in just 10 games since his breakout 2013 season.
With the patriots Gordon has just blinked the glimpse of his great talent as he tried to fit into the crimes of the team. Over four matches in New England, he has 13 catches for 224 meters and a touchdown. His best performance came last week against the bears, when Gordon took four passes in 100 meters.
Rapoport noted Monday that the expected benchmark underscores the patriots looking to acquire a full-fledged veteran recipient before Tuesday’s trading deadline. He pointed to Lions Golden Tate and Broncos Demaryius Thomas as players where New England is “particularly interested”.
