MINNEAPOLIS – Unfortunate Guard Jimmy Butler was booed when introduced and sometimes when he touched the ball in Minnesota Timberwolf’s open-air opener on Friday night.
It was a generally unpleasant mood at Target Center as the crowd also heavily booed coach and team president Tom Thibodeau during introductions and visits Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love, who requested a trade from Minnesota four years ago.
Butler, who demanded trade from Wolves last month, also refused to acknowledge or shake hands with lawyer Glen Taylor. In his normal seat at the end of the bench, Taylor shook his hand with several players, but Butler left him.
Jimmy Butler declined to admit or shake hands with Wolves owner Glen Taylor before Friday night’s season opener.
