F Ox News host Sean Hannity insisted on Monday that he did not participate in President Trump’s last campaign stop of the 2018 midterm election cycle in Missouri to stumble for Republicans.

“Despite reports, I will conduct a live show from Cape Girardeau and interview President Trump before the rally,” Hannity tweeted of the event scheduled to take place monday night. “To be clear, I will not be on the stage fighting with the president. I’ll cover the final rally for my show. Something I’ve done in every election of the past.”

The Trump campaign sent two e-mails to reporters Sunday to indicate how country music star Lee Greenwood would perform his hit “Good Bless USA” live at Cape Girardeau, Mo., the event, as well as how conservative media personality Hannity and Rush Limbaugh would also act as “special guests”.

The campaign described Hannity and Limbaugh as “longtime friends” by Trump. “Both conservative media commentators are strong advocates for the president’s America First Agenda,” noted the announcement.

The reaction to the announcement was quick on social media, where some suggested Hannity clearly clarifies for GOP.

Limbaugh, a resident of Cape Girardeau, did not respond to Washington Examiner ‘s request for comment on the perceived proximity between him and Trump.

Trump will perform in Cleveland and Fort Wayne, Ind., On Monday before completing his “Make America Great Again” tour in Missouri later in the evening.
