With the latest update of the system Always On Display released to Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note8 , the brand introduced the possibility of add animated images to the screen always on . This feature, which curiously is not yet available in the recent Galaxy S9 and S9 + , allows users to add GIFs, which will be displayed at all times on the screen when the device is at rest.
As they point out from_SamMobile_ , this functionality is already available for all variants of the Galaxy S8, S8 + and Note8 through a update of the ‘Always On Display’ app available in the Galaxy Apps store . Once installed, adding GIFs to the screen mode always on is as simple as following the steps below.
Before adding a GIF to the screen at rest of the device, it is convenient to comment that this addition could adversely affect the battery life of the device , since the animated image will consume a greater consumption of resources than if we only use the clock, calendar or the rest of the information that appears by default in the Always On mode.
Even so, Samsung has decided that the chosen GIF, it will only be played every time the screen turns off and the mode AOD , so the consumption of resources should not be excessive.
