Production Harley-Davidson Livewire electric motorcycle was unveiled earlier this week, but the disclosure failed to answer any important questions. We still do not know the price, the range, the power, and we were not even sure how it would sound. Here it is, here’s the future sound of Harley-Davidson. It is good?
Jalopnik news editor Erik Shilling recently spent a week in the heart of the Harley culture and when he saw this clip, he immediately stated that this is not a sound that your typical Harley rider would probably be happy to own.
He says that Harley promised it would sound like a jet engine, but it actually sounds more like the terminal cabinets at the airport. I do not mind it personally, but I have to admit that it does not share the same attitude as a loud rumbly noise complaint waiting to happen, which has gone to the formula for the company so far.
But Harley-Davidson did Livewire for the customer it wants, not necessarily the aging group of customers it has, but I’m sure there would be nothing if they stopped enjoying this electric motor as well.
