You are solely responsible for your comments and by using TribLive.com you agree
We moderate comments. Our goal is to provide noun comment to a general reader. By reviewing submissions, we provide space where readers can share intelligent and informed comments that improve the quality of our news and information.
While most comments will be posted if they are on-topic and not addictive, moderative decisions are subjective. We will do them as carefully and consistently as we can. Due to the volume of reader comments, we can not review individual moderation decisions with readers.
We value thought-provoking comments that represent a series of views that make their point quick and polite. We try to protect discussions from repeated comments either by the same reader or different readers
We follow the same standard for taste as the daily newspaper. Some things we do not tolerate: personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, profanity (including expletives and letters followed by hyphens), commercial marketing, impersonation, incoherence, proselytizing and SHOUTING. Do not include URLs for websites.
We do not change comments. They are either approved or deleted. We reserve the right to edit a comment cited or extracted in an article. In this case, we can fix spelling and punctuation.
We welcome strong opinions and criticisms of our work, but we do not want comments to weaken with discussions about our policies and we will moderate accordingly.
We appreciate it when readers and people cited in articles or blog posts point to actual or important errors and investigate all claims. But these suggestions should be sent
via e-mail. In order to avoid distracting other readers, we will not publish comments that suggest a correction. Instead, corrections will be made in a blog post or in an article.
