Atlanta Hawks ahead Vince Carter, 42, said he wants to return to a 22nd NBA season if he is interested in him this offseason.
When asked during the lookout on Thursday at ESPN’s sorry if he had an age in mind for wanting to retire, Carter said, “43.”
“I think I could stretch it out once,” he said. “At the end of the year, I usually judge from the beginning to the bottom to see how I feel. And of course the possibility is – when the phone call rings and law shows interest, it’s good.”
Hawks is Carter’s third team in so many seasons; he played for the kings 201
7-18 and Grizzlies for the three seasons before. Carter joined a year, $ 2.4 million deal with Hawks last July. The eight-time All-Star is an average of 7.1 points per game this season while playing 16.6 minutes per game. He shot a career-high 40.9 percent on 3-pointers.
“I, personally, I think I could give it a year, so why not?” he told PTI. “We’ll see what happens.”
