A Hackensack woman raises awareness of the rare hormonal cancer that suddenly took her best friend’s life over the summer.

To commemorate the World NET (Neuroendocrine) Cancer Day November 10, Amanda Pizzimenti

launches a website

and fundraiser for

Kerry Snow

by Manalapan.

Snow succumbed to the disease at 28 years in August, two months after her diagnosis. All proceeds from the sale on the Pizza website will go against

NET Cancer Research Foundation

in the name of the snow.

To share Snow’s history, Pizzimenti hopes to raise awareness of NET cancer &#821

1; and maybe even save someone’s lives.

Snow began to experience health

complications

in January 2017. All test results came back inadequate, and doctors criticized her symptoms up to gluten intolerances and food sensitivity.

According to the International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance, most NET cancer is diagnosed at a later stage when they have already spread to other parts of the body. Then it’s hard to find a cure.

Such was the case with Snow.

“At the time when she was diagnosed in June, the cancer was the terminal,” said Pizzimenti, 28.

“It was so hard to see her go from being someone so active to someone who had trouble walking down to the hospital.”

Snow was a runner with a penchant for travel. She would throw essential stuff in a bag and jump on a plane to a strange country that piqued her interest, recalled Pizzimenti.

She was never one to stop laughing and – was positive and positive because cancer caused chaos on her body.

“She never gave up hope,” said Pizzimenti. “She was all smiling. She would have a bad day sometimes but would always be there because her friends and family comforted them.

“I’m trying to carry her name forward. I know that’s what she wants.”
