Police killed an armed robber and two other people were injured, including a 1

2-year-old girl, in a black Friday shootings at a shopping mall on Thursday night near Birmingham, Alabama, said the authorities.

Hundreds of people fled the Riverchase Gallery in Hoover, Birmingham’s largest suburb, after shots reported at 21:52 (10:52 p.m. ET), the witnesses said. The template had planned to remain open until midnight before Friday’s sale and a large contingent of the Hoover police patrolled the mall in uniform. Hoover police said.

Police Capt. Gregg Rector said the incident began with a struggle between two people. One pulled a gun and shot the other, an 18-year-old man, who was listed in a serious state, he said. The shooter fled and became deadly shot by a uniformed Hoover officer, he said.

A 12-year-old girl was also fought by shooting in circumstances that were unclear. She was described as alert, conscious and spoke, said the principal. Several witnesses told NBC affiliate WVTM in Birmingham that they heard as many as 10 shots.

Shopping was brief on Thanksgiving Day last year when fights broke out in the same mall. One person was treated for minor injuries.
