It’s strange that Google’s Pixel 3 is not more popular. If you look at what consumers value in a smartphone, it marks two of the top three boxes (according to a survey by Uswitch): a reasonable price and an excellent camera.

It is increasingly small to do and sell smart phones that basically disappear after 1.5 years, whether from a consumer or environmental point of view, so easily accessible and affordable repairs are – or will be – a must. [19659011] That in This means that the official repair kits are easier to access, cheap and provide guides on how to replace components.

Google is not financially dependent on its smartphone hardware business as other manufacturers, so it is probably best to make a big shift towards a more environmentally friendly smartphone business. And there are likely to be many people who are happy to be part-time hobbyists while increasing their environmental data. There is much moral and consumer capital to be made from offering repair services, and the first company to do so will greatly benefit.

Back to Pixel 2 greatness

Pixel 2 had the best battery life I’ve used on a top model smartphone, but what combination of software and hardware worked on Pixel 2 ( or the impressive Pixel 3A XL ) has not been transferred to Pixel 3. This needs sorting.

As I mentioned earlier, Google’s Pixel 3 meets two of the three main features of a consumer. Where it is missing is the battery life. I’m not entirely sure why it is worse this time, but a device that is cheap, has the best camera and the best battery life is what consumers are asking for. So Google has a lot to gain here, and it’s probably the only manufacturer close enough to perfect all three.

Pixel-specific assistant functions

One of the biggest features of a Pixel device is the software. Or, more specifically, its AI abilities.

Google has done well to cut out a unique experience that is not solely dependent on raw materials. The image processing that provides excellent results (even with the help of the visual core chip), photo focus and recently Duplex has genuine, useful, real benefits. More than hand guards to control the phone or a pen. But even though these features are often displayed on a Pixel first, they are finally rolled to other Android devices – and in some cases to iOS.

It is obviously good that other Android users may use features that are built for, yes, Android. I understand why Google makes them publicly available too. But that means it’s less to distinguish between a Pixel and a similar skinned back Android device like a OnePlus or Motorola handset.

Environmentally friendly [19659010] There is less and less restriction to do and sell smartphones that basically disappear after 1.5 years. Either from a consumer or environmental point of view. So easily accessible and affordable repairs are – or will be – a must.

This means that you have easier access to official repair packages, cheaply and provide guides on replacing components.

And there are likely to be many people who are happy to be part-time hobbyists while increasing their environmental data.
