An important update for Google’s portable Android platform is just right now, and we’re now hearing about the next Wear OS version. Today, Google announced that “System Version: H” will contain a lot of updates when it rolls out in the next few months.

Battery Save Updates:
This update further extends battery life by switching on. The battery carrier only shows the time when the battery falls below 1

Improved Body Effect:
After 30 minutes of inactivity, your watch is in deep sleep mode to save battery.

Smart App CV for all apps:
Now you can easily pick up where you stopped all the apps on your watch.

Two-Step Shutdown:
You can now turn off clock in two simple steps. To turn off your watch, just hold the power button pressed until you see the shutdown screen and then select “power shutdown” or “reboot”

All these sound good and can be valuable battery life improvements if available Users with watches based on the older Snapdragon 2100 hardware as opposed to the newer 3100 series. Smart App Resume will make it easy re-jumping in and out of apps, while the effectiveness of the body should relieve worry to remember if you left the device on a charger or just on the shelf.

The only problem right now is that Google has not said which devices will receive this update and the words “Your device may not be eligible for this update and will be determined by your watch manufacturer” is not inspiring trust. Fossil announced that all of its touchscreen clocks will get it, but we have not seen words from other manufacturers yet. Almost all existing devices have the last, and hopefully it will be consistent, but with a new name tag and a note that says “functionality may vary per unit” we have to wait and see.
