Home Alone is an iconic holiday film. Google Home Devices are popular holiday gifts. And so it’s meaningful that Google would bring the two together for their latest ad, “Home Alone Again” (which seriously guys “Google Home Alone” was right there ). The ad has Macaulay Culkin rethink Kevin’s role – but this time, with a more modern, Google Assistant-driven installation.
It’s a cute ad with Culkin based on Google to help with some of the famous pieces from the movie down to a custom “Operation Kevin” routine that automates things like locking the door and moving around a cardboard cutout on Roomba, and turn on the lights to protect against a Joe Pesci-like thief. It’s also the bizarre look of a distinctly modified Pixel device, which has an edge-to-edge screen and no notch.
Additionally, Google adds some Home Alone Integrations to Google Assistant. , which will trigger quotes from the movie – for example, ask “Hello Google, did I forget something?” and you get the movie’s “KEVINNNNNNNNNN” scream in response. Check out Google’s blog posts for the entire list (or check your favorite rate on YouTube, which may be easier).
