Always, due to ignorance, Google is usually blamed for the current fragmentation. It is true that they have part of this fault, since they are not as sharp as they should be with the subject , nevertheless, little by little Google moves tab so that the manufacturers update and remove mobiles updated to the market.
Today, we have good news for all those who are thinking of renewing their smartphone soon. Google has already set a deadline for manufacturers to launch their smartphones with Android Oreo , otherwise, they will not be able to obtain Google certification, and therefore, they will not be able to use their services.
As we can read in XDA Developers , March was the last month in which new mobile phones with Android Oreo would be certified . This means that all terminals that want to obtain Google certification from now on must come with Android Oreo 8.0 at least, which makes them included in Project Treble.
If you do not obtain this certification, the mobiles could not incorporate the Gapps , applications and essential Google services such as Google Play Services and all those apps that we use on a day-to-day basis. This is undoubtedly good news, which will prevent us from seeing devices that are launched on the market with Android Nougat.
As always, and as you can see, Google’s strong hand is the only one capable of ending fragmentation , because the manufacturers are not willing to do their part to fix the disaster in which Android is involved at the moment. We hope that the arrival of Project Treble will help, even minimally, to improve the pace of updates, since Android P is on the verge of being a reality, and we do not want most smartphones nor smell it .
