Harris originally went to Virginia Tech on November 19, 2018, but his plans changed when head coach Buzz Williams left for Texas A & M. On April 4, Harris announced that he would open his recruitment in a post via Twitter.
“Congratulations to Coach Buzz at his new position,” Harris said in the post. “Even though I will still consider Virginia Tech to fully weigh all my opportunities, I have decided to resume my recruitment.”
