Two days before Thanksgiving, tech leader Keith Caneiro was found dead on his front lawn with a shotwind in his head. The remains of his wife and two young children were discovered in their Colts Neck, New Jersey, a mansion that had been broken, local prosecutors said Wednesday.

Paul Caneiro, Keith’s brother, was arrested and accused of deteriorating fire brigade on Wednesday – not to put his brother’s home on fire, but to intend to burn his own house hours before the apparent fourfold murder. Paul Caneiro’s wife and two daughters were also inside that time, but no one was injured.

At a Wednesday conference, Monmouth County prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said he believed Keith Caneiro’s family, which he called “victim of violence against violence” was targeted and that it was “one of the most horrible cases” he had ever seen, according to the NBC News.

The two fires of the day may seem as temporary, but Gramiccioni did not tell Paul Caneiro was a suspect in Keith Caneiro’s death, 50; his wife, Jennifer Caneiro, 45; 8-year-old Sophia; and 11-year-old Jesse, reported NBC News.

The brothers were a business partner at Square One, an Asbury Park technology company. A neighbor told Asbury Park Press that he saw Paul Caneiro and his family near his home in Ocean Township around noon, placing him miles from his brother’s Colts Neck Estate on Willow Brook Road, which firemen responded at about 12:30

The typically picturesque town of Colts Neck has featured celebrities like Queen Latifah, Bon Jovi band members and an animal shelter run by Jon Stewart and his wife.

Attorney Robert Honecker, representing Paul Caneiro, did not respond to Washington Post’s request for comment, but told CNN that his client maintains his virginity. “His family fully supports his defense against this charge. No evidence has been suggested suggesting a reason for him to engage in such behavior. He expects to be freed when this case finally resolves,” said he.

Caneiro is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
