Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Twitch Streamer and Fortnite Star whose profile only continues to grow, announced today that he and his sponsorship partner Red Bull will fly a New Years Eve live stream from the New York Times Square. The event, which will run from 7 PM ET to 7 AM ET the following day and stream on Ninja’s personal Twitch channel, will mean he plays Fortnite with a number of remarkable guests that he calls in the New Year for different times zones around the world. The news was announced today at TwitchCon, the streaming platform’s annual Community Convention for Streamers and Game Personality.
“When I started playing, I never thought that such a thing would be possible. NYE has always been fun for players because it’s a night where you have a generally accepted excuse to stop and play, but it’s never been an event in the custom that was actually built around that tradition, says Blevins to Twitch CEO Emmett Shear in a life Q & A at TwitchCon. “This is just my ultimate NY Fortnite LAN party with some of my best friends and some surprises like me hope we as a community can have a lot of fun with. “
Ninja’s career in the last 12 months has been short of meteoric. Since Breaking Streaming records with Drake back in March and became live streaming of Epic Games hit this royal game, now probably the most popular game on the planet, Ninja has been signing a deal with Red Bull, a partner with Samsung for its Galaxy Note 9 launch and Android Fortnite exclusive and reached the cover of ESPN Magazine the first e-sportsport to do it.
All the time his social media and Twitch have continued to rise. Ninja now calls for 11 million followers of Twitch, 11 million followers at Instagram, more than 3.5 million Twitter followers and nearly 20 million YouTube subscribers. A significant subset of his Twitch followers is also subscribers, which means they pay him at least $ 5 per month. Although part of the subscription fee goes directly to Twitch, Ninja also receives donations and makes extra money through clothes, sponsors, advertisements and appearances, including a new Samsung advertisement.
