A broth was growing rapidly in the foot north of Fontana Tuesday night, with flames that even spread on the properties of nearby homes.
The firemen in San Bernardino County said they were on stage near the crossing of the Sierra and Riverside avenues, above the Sierra Heights neighborhood, shortly after 1
0pm. It is unclear when exactly the flames broke out.
The blower grew to cover 20 hectares within 15 minutes, the agency said.
It was called Sierra Fire.
Rialto Firemen and Cal Fire San Bernardino crew members also responded.
The aerial photos of the airport showed two major spots near 15 freeways, not far from residential areas.
The authorities claimed that no evacuations were ordered, although firemen could be seen to extinguish embers who had gone into shrubs and trees outside at least two homes near Riverside Avenue.
