Facebook has issued a new update regarding its counterfeit counterfeiting, false news and disinformation. According to the announcement, the company is “in regular” contact with law enforcement agencies, other companies around the world and also “third-party experts”.

Facebook claimed that the investigation into this issue alongside partnerships around the world has helped the company remove 82 pages from its platform before October 26th. The update from the company also revealed that new information from law enforcement helped the company turn off more accounts likely to be “linked to foreign devices”.

To provide concrete statistics about the situation, Facebook showed that its “early investigation” helped the company identify “about 30” accounts on Facebook and 85 accounts on Instagram. The parameter here appears to be based on “coordinated authentic behavior”. As a result, the company blocked all current accounts, and it is currently investigating the accounts in more detail. Facebook also noted that all Facebook pages associated with the 30 accounts are in Russian or French. Details about blocked Instagram accounts indicate that they are “mostly” in English with different goals.

According to the information, some of the forbidden Instagram accounts focused on celebrities while others focused on policy debate. The message arrived hours before the mid-term election. Facebook explained that it was not done with the investigation, but it would want the public to know that it has taken action against attempts to be brought into the forthcoming election.

Facebook further revealed that it will continue to analyze the accounts and end the update by indicating that it will share more information after the investigation has been completed. 19659008] (function (d, s, id) {
