One of Facebook’s leading European executives is scheduled to be shown Tuesday morning before a 19459005 first-class gathering of legislators from seven nations investigates social media giants for their role in electoral and dissemination

Teachers – from Britain, Canada, Brazil, Latvia, Argentina, Ireland, Singapore, France and Belgium – has repeatedly requested that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg be shown before their “major international committee.” But Facebook announced last week, it will be represented by Richard Allan, Facebook’s Vice President of Public Policy.

Hearing comes only a few days after a British MP took a cache of documents from an American businessman. Facebook has spent months fighting in a California court to stay sealed.

The businessman is app developer Ted Kramer, founder of a company that fits Facebook. He was in London last week when Parliament asked for the documents in a letter from Damian Collins, chairman of Parliament’s Committee on Digital Communications, Culture, the Media and Sport.

“We request these actions because we think they contain information that is highly relevant to our ongoing investigation of disinformation and false news,” read the letter. “We are particularly interested in knowing if they can provide further insights to the committee on which senior executives on Facebook who knew about the concern of Facebook users’ data integrity and the developer’s access to user data.”

The documents were ruled sealed by a San Mateo, California Supreme Court Judge after months of legal corruption between Facebook, Kramers Company Six4Three, and media organizations. But the California court has no jurisdiction in Britain.

Collins stated in a tweet Sunday that his committee is entitled to publish the documents. He later said in an email to CBS News that a decision about it will be announced later this week.

Against this tense background, Allan is expected to face a heated hearing with legislators who have traveled thousands of miles for faceoff. 1
