WINNERS

ALABAMA

When is Tide not a winner on the signing date? Well, after losing the SEC recruitment crown to Georgia in February, wondering about Nick Saban had lost his recruiting fastball. It does not turn out, and Alabama rolled again in several big fishes. The day started well when The Tide Angry Rivals250 defended Jordan Battle from Ohio State, and continued to roll as the school beat Georgia and others for five star jumps back Trey Sanders and five star offensive tackle Evan Neal. The bulldogs got the best of Saban and the company by landing five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean, but it was basically the only flap on a very good day for the tide.

FLORIDA

While Florida State and Miami saw several goals slip out or despite their fingers, after the landing, the streets celebrated a trio of i-state four stars. Strong end Keon Zipperer, defensive end Lloyd Summerall and the offensive linewoman Deyavie Hammond all made their announcements on national television, which only reinforced the perception that it was close to Dan Mullen and the company. Florida would have loved to land Sanders and missing him hurt. But all in all, it was a good day for Gators and definitely better than their “Big Three” counterparts.

OKLAHOMA

Sooners began the day by landing Jeremiah Criddell, the defensive California once engaged in Oregon, and things just continued to roll away. The school also reached Texas for more defensive help, landed the Rivals250 defensive end Marcus Stripling, and shortened it by browsing three-star athletes Ty DeArman from Arizona State. The moves were enough to put Sooners into the No. 1 spot in Big 12, passing the archrival Texas and putting them in pole position to win the conference recruitment crown.

GEORGIA

The Bulldogs may have missed Sanders and Neal, but many schools were not even in the discussion to land either elite talent and pull the Dean away from LSU, Alabama and others are a big enough profit for school alone. But after getting news that former 5-star Justin Fields could transfer, Dawgs suddenly needed a quarterback. Enter Rivals250 Ohio State commit Dwan Mathis, who angry his promise from Buckeyes to Bulldogs and signed Wednesday. It was the fourth commitment to Mathi’s recruitment, but for Georgia’s fans it was the most important. Georgia can add even more talent as things are taking place at the big star games in January, so its winning ways may not be done yet.

SYRACUSE

Orange had one of the most moving engagement announcements of all time when three-star defensive linewoman Cooper Dawson requested the help of a classmate to deliver the news of his commitment to the orange. Dawson and High School Companion and Friend Kingsley Feinman who is suffering from cerebral palsy, came together to deliver the news in a moment that quickly became viral and can be seen below.

TEXAS A & M

It was Jimbo Fisher ‘s big price tag when leaving Florida State for Texas A & M, but so far he has been a pretty good investment for Aggies. Texas A & M is currently ranked # 3 in the team recruitment ranking, just behind the tide and bulldogs, the clear top two schools in the SEC at the moment. Both of these programs were built by elite recruitment courses and thanks to a late flip of Derick Hunter from Florida State and official signatures of five stars Kenyon Green and Erick Young, it was a great day for Texas A & M.

LOSERS

] MIAMI

What’s up with The U? It was a brutal day for hurricanes as they saw prospects like Zipperer and Summeral – once without locks to write with the school – ending with the rivals Gators. It shortened a marvelous week for Miami, which also saw several classes of 2020 de-commitments, as well as the rumored transfer of 2018 Rivals100 quarterback signee Jarren Williams. Canes can rebound and are still in for inconvenient prospects like Tyrique Stevenson and Jaden Haselwood, but their standing at No. 43 in Rivals.com team rankings is basically incredible at this stage of the game.

OLE MISS / MISSISSIPPI STATE

Each of these schools comes from a forgettable day in the recruitment trail. Both programs saw elite players from the Mississippi state bout for other opportunities, where Derick Hall asked the bulldogs for the SEC-rival Auburn, and dean leaves the rebels high and dry to write with Georgia. Add to the fact that three-star defensive back Raydarious Jones chose to go south to LSU to play defensive back rather than stay in the state and that Brandon Turnage also decided to stick to Alabama rather than turning to Ole Miss and It was an all-round forgettable day for the two rivals.

USC

Trojans tend to be at or near the top of the Rivals.com team rank when signing daily rolls around, but this year, the team is not even on top of Pac- 12 conference. In fact, the USC is 17th place behind conference leader Oregon and barely within Top 25 in the country. So what went wrong? It is a culmination of factors for the Trojans, including the fact that indefinite five-star Bru McCoy has not yet announced, and the same applies to elite broad recipient Kyle Ford. If both ends with school, things will be rescued, but it’s still unbelievable to see the USC rank so low and with very little buzz on the national scene.

FLORIDA STATE

The seminols are actually ranked higher than Florida in the Rivals.com team rankings, so how do they end up in the loss section while Gators are celebrated as winners? Well, it’s about momentum and perception. Florida State fans were waiting to watch as long as quarterback commit Sam Howell announced his flip to North Carolina, just being followed up quickly by the news that current Seminoles quarterback Deondre Francois would not return to school next year. Add the loss of Hunter to the Hated Fisher and Aggies and it was a day to forget Willie Taggart and the company.
