Dozens of Protest Pence at the Taylor University Introduction

UPLAND, Ind. (AP) – Dozens of graduates and faculties have protested on the election of Vice President Mike Pence as opening speaker at Taylor University in Indiana by going out a few moments before his introduction. Indianapolis Star reports protesters in caps and dresses steps and quietly went down the aisle and out of the auditorium of the Kesler Student Activities Center at the University of Upland, Indiana. The protest was planned and discussed before Saturday's ceremony. Some faculties and students of the nondominational Christian liberal arts school discussed the appropriateness of the former Indiana governor at the inaugural ceremony. Most of Taylor's graduation class did not leave. Pence got a standing ovation. UPLAND, Ind. (AP) – Dozens of graduates and faculties have protested on the election of Vice President Mike Pence as opening speaker at Taylor University in Indiana by going out a few moments before his introduction.

Indianapolis Star reports protesters in caps and dresses steps and quietly went down the aisle and out of the auditorium of the Kesler Student Activities Center at the University of Upland, Indiana.

The protest was planned and discussed before Saturday’s ceremony. Some faculties and students of the nondominational Christian liberal arts school discussed the appropriateness of the former Indiana governor at the inaugural ceremony.

Most of Taylor’s graduation class did not leave. Pence got a standing ovation.
