Are you curious to see how it is manufactured inside the Huawei P20 Pro ? Maybe you can have the need to repair the broken glass of the case or the screen itself by yourself? The following video shows us how difficult it is to disassemble the Huawei P20 Pro, and also gives us some details about its construction and distribution of the components.
The design and manufacture of a smartphone is a challenge, just as it can be – although not to the same extent – the repair of breakdowns and more frequent breaks. The miniaturization and the demands on the assembly level favor that the subsequent repair requires specific techniques. In the case of the Huawei P20 Pro, the following video by Zack Nelson, better known for his resistance tests, helps us to familiarize ourselves with the disassembly process, as well as the necessary tools.
Put hands to work, the first step to access the interior of the Huawei P20 Pro is the application of heat in the back. The glass housing is glued with a strong adhesive, so it is necessary to melt to some extent that glue to facilitate the work.
Once detached, this process can serve as a reference if at any time you have the need and concern to replace the rear panel of the Huawei P20 Pro, in case of breakage. In this sense, you have to be careful with the cable that goes from the motherboard to the triple camera, which is responsible for the autofocus.
If we focus on the inside of the Huawei P20 Pro, we have to unscrew the screws that hold the motherboard to the different components. In this sense, Huawei opts for modularity and the replacement of parts is relatively simple. One of those parts refers to the plate that includes the triple camera. If you notice, in one of the sequences of the video of the dismantling of the Huawei P20 Pro, Zack allows us to see how the three cameras are provided with optical image stabilization.
In the case of changing the battery, although Zack Nelson is not as subtle as iFixit, he shows us how to disassemble the battery. So far, we have the necessary steps in case we need some day to replace the battery with another one.
Regarding the screen, here it is necessary to separate the layer that integrates the sensors from the AMOLED panel, although the video is not very instructive in this aspect, the process is the same as that of the crystal case. We have to detach the panel from the chassis part of the housing to separate both elements and proceed with its replacement, after disconnecting the cable that connects the display with the base plate.
