Jerry Bruckheimer is rumored to continue as a producer.
It seems that Disney wants to launch the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, with Deadpool and Zombieland writer Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick in early talks to the pen script.
As reported by Deadline, not much else is known about the potential restart, other than Jerry Bruckheimer continues to act as a producer for the franchise. It is currently unclear whether Johnny Depp, who famously played Captain Jack Sparrow in the current five films in the franchise, will be involved in the re-launch.
This proposed reset violates rumors that a Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is being developed, but it is possible that the movies are the same. These rumors suggested that the writers of Dead Men Tell No Tales, Jeff Nathanson and Terry Rossio, worked on the script and that the director of the film, Joachim Rønning, would return to the helpline project.
