The human digestive system is the main pillar of our bodies, as it handles the foods and drinks we consume, and believe me nothing is more disturbing to your daily routine and regular activities than a disrupted digestive system, so today, we brought you a list of foods that can help regulate your digestion when added to your diet.

Zucchini

Zucchini is great for your body in general for its hydrating effect as well as nutritious value and even better for your digestive tract due to being high in fibers which gives it a cleansing effect, especially when it comes to the intestines, for it helps clean the intestine walls preventing toxins from settling in the colon.

Yogurt

Yogurt contains healthy bacteria that can help with the digestion of your food, as some of these bacteria soothe the stomach which can help lower lactose intolerance and cases of upset stomach while reducing abdominal pain as well, while other bacteria regulate the digestive system and play a role in preventing chronic intestinal disease.

Whole grains

Whole grains include whole wheat, whole oats, brown rice, quinoa, corn along with many others, all of which are a great source of fiber that helps improve and regulate digestion while preventing diseases, they also contain lactic acid which promotes good bacteria in the large intestine, supporting the process while improving absorption of nutrients, whole grains also help prevent diverticulosis which could cause inflammation of the colon wall, irregularity of digestion along with pain.

Bananas

If you have some sort of digestive problem, you should stick to one banana a day to limit the problem, for bananas are great in solving digestive issues as they help the intestines in restoring their functions and treating diarrhea, bananas are also rich in electrolytes and potassium, which are extremely important for a good digestive health.

Cucumbers

It’s well known that cucumber is rich in fibers, in addition to nutrients and minerals like calcium, folic acid, fat and vitamin C, cucumbers also contain “Erepsin” which is a very effective digestive protein, not to mention that cucumbers are a great choice to get rid of stomach problems like gasses, acidity, gastric ulcers and peptic ulcers.
