Whether you ate too much the night before or you simply need a push in the right direction, this one-day plan will get you going on the right track!
Also, make sure to stay hydrated during the day as hydration is a key element of a healthy detox.
When you’re detoxing, it’s not recommended that you engage in any intense workout, still, it’s necessary to maintain your body temperature and keep your blood flowing, that’s why it’s highly recommended that you do some yoga if you’re feeling a bit sluggish, as it helps you stay energized for the rest of your day.
Set yourself up for a successful day by eating a meal that will keep you feeling satisfied without weighing you down. For example, you can have a strawberry smoothie made up of two cups of fresh strawberries, a frozen banana combined with two teaspoons of peanut butter and 120 ml of either plain Greek yogurt or fat-free milk along with half a cup of ice cubes, since such a smoothie contains more than a day’s worth of fiber, which will definitely help to keep things moving.
Another option is a flat-belly smoothie, consisting of 90 ml of vanilla nonfat Greek yogurt, a tablespoon of almond butter, half a cup of frozen blueberries, half a cup of frozen pineapples, a cup of kale and 3/4 cups of water, as these ingredients are known to ease digestion and eliminate uncomfortable feelings of bloat. Both smoothies contain about 300 calories.
Despite the fact that it’s encouraged to give up caffeine during a detox, sometimes that’s not possible, yet don’t worry as you can replace coffee with green tea that’s rich in antioxidants, and helps boost metabolism.
And if you’re feeling the need for a little snack before lunch, grab an apple, or have some blueberries or probiotic-filled Greek yogurt that can aid digestion.

Preparation of salad:
Mix 2 cups of rapeseed with 1 teaspoon of virgin olive oil and leave for three minutes. To prepare the dressing, mix a tablespoon of “Dijon” mustard with a tablespoon of lemon juice and half a tablespoon of olive oil, add the dressing to the turnips and stir well.

Forget all you know about detoxifying the body. The next version is a comfortable 3-day program that includes soothing teas and delicious low-fat drinks without fearful intestinal laxatives. We will use only natural pure delicious foods. Follow these suggestions to restore your body and digestive system and even your blood sugar and blood pressure to the right track.
Get addicted to antioxidants:
For three days, focus on eating bright colored vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and legumes, for antioxidants activate the enzymes of the liver, which in turn break down harmful compounds and convert them into a water dissoluble form, so that the body can dispose them more easily. Spinach, cabbage and cranberries are considered some of the richest foods in antioxidants.
Use chemical warfare methods to get rid of toxins:
Garlic, onions and eggs are rich in sulfur compounds that help the body synthesize its antioxidant: glutathione, for this compound is manufactured internally and known for its ability to remove toxic compounds, especially from the body, such compounds include heavy metals like mercury and arsenic.
Go organic:
Insecticides are toxic substances and are a source of concern, for some studies suggest a link between insecticide-exposed foods and tumors/premature deaths in rats. Organic food is ideal but if not available, you can choose natural foods with thick outer crust to be less prone to contamination.
Keep hydrated:
A part of the program is to rid your body of toxins through urine, feces and sweating, that’s why drinking about eight or twelve cups of water or caffeine-free tea is essential, add to that, it has the extra benefit of making you look better and younger.
Eat healthy, clean foods:
Avoid processed foods (any foods containing ingredients you do not know or cannot spell), fast food, fried foods, caffeine, dairy products and cheeses, alcohol, red meat, sugar and white flour, for you shouldn’t eat anything that contains the toxic substances you want to rid your body of.
Choose Snacks Smartly:
If there is a need for snack between meals, choose fruits and organic nuts, or make a small plate of salad with a few slices of chicken or salmon and use a seasoning of fresh lemon juice and a little extra virgin olive oil.
Drink herbal tea that rids the body of toxins:
Both “DeTox by Yogi” and “Medicinals EveryDay Detox by Traditional” teas are recommended for digestion, as both of them contain green dandelion that helps digestion and supports liver functions, licorice that helps expel mucus and phlegm from the body and ginger, an antioxidant that stimulates blood circulation In the body and accelerates the process of expelling toxins from the body. In addition, it is recommended to soak the tea bags for 10 to 15 minutes while keeping the cup or jug covered.
Suppress the strong desire to eat sugar:
Make a cup of licorice tea, for licorice contains a compound equivalent to fifty times the sweetness of sugar, which suppresses your craving for sugar.
Think about following up light food for another 24 days:
After a few days, that feeling of inactivity and unwillingness to get out off the couch will disappear, because the effects of alcohol, sugar and starches begin to decline. If you can follow this system for a full month, you will feel that your energy is doubled as your weight, your blood-sugar and cholesterol levels begin to decrease.

9:30 p.m. The night before
Go to bed early and make sure your bedroom is cool.
Don’t watch anything stimulating on TV like the news or a drama series.
To optimize this one-day detox, make it a mind-body experience
6 a.m.
Wake up, meditate and breathe.
Start your day with a clear mind, making you more relaxed, calm and focused.
6:30 a.m.
Drink spring or filtered water and have a light breakfast like a smoothie and a handful of nuts.
7 a.m.
Keep away from technology, making this a digital detox day.
Put aside your smartphone, tablet and computer for just these 24 hours and that will give you some much needed rest from stress. So, choose the detox day wisely (preferably not a workday)
10 a.m.
Have a snack and drink water. You can have a bowl of soup (recipe below) or some fruit.
12 p.m.
You’ll be hungry for lunch by now, so enjoy a bowl of soup, some steamed veggies, some lean protein and a glass of water.
3 p.m.
Try doing a breathing exercise for 5-10 minutes before you have another snack and drink water.
5 p.m.
Take a quick trip around, as walking fast does wonders when it comes to circulation.
6:30 p.m.
Have another bowl of soup for dinner with a delicious salad that includes no cheese.
8 p.m.
Have a relaxing yoga session.
9:30-10 p.m.
Think of reasons why you’re grateful about this day.
Detox Carrot Soup recipe
This soup is carrot-based and it contains a very good balance of vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, B, C and E while being rich in calcium.
Directions
– In large soup pot, cook a small bag of peeled and cut organic baby carrots, two cut celeries and an onion and leave them to boil, then add pickling spice in cheese cloth or tea strainer and place in pot (it will float on or near the top).
– Simmer vegetables and spice for 40 minutes or until vegetables are very tender.
– Remove from stovetop then remove pickling spice and discard it.
– Skim foam off top of soup and let the soup cool slightly.
– Using a slotted spoon, scoop out vegetables and place in blender, then blend on low to puree into a creamy, slightly thick consistency (add more vegetables if too thin).
– Serve warm.
Additional notes:
This soup can be kept in a refrigerator one week and in a freezer for several months.
Optional ingredients: peeled and chopped ginger and/or cumin can be added.

Going on a detox diet may seem exhausting at first, as there are various diets in books and online, which only makes choosing the best diet harder and harder, and since homemade simple detox diets are becoming more popular, you could easily lose your initial purpose; detoxification. For you must focus on whole and unprocessed foods that nurture your body and cleanse your body one step at a time.
You can gradually prepare for your detox diet in a manner that would stop you from drifting into bad health habits by sticking to a reasonable plan that encourages you to abide to health basics and leaves a long-term effect on your health.
To avoid the common body reactions toward detox, such as nausea and headaches, you can stay away from sugar, processed foods and artificial sweeteners in the couple of days before your detox begin and in case you’re not completely willing to give up caffeine, switch to lower-caffeine drinks like green tea, white tea, or matcha.
During this preparation phase, you can also start planning your week’s meals, as the existence of an organized plan efficiently helps you stick to your goal and not go astray later on, this phase can also be used to get rid of any foods and drinks that could tempt you off your main course.
And for detox beginners who work during weekdays, it’s highly recommended that you start with your diet at the end of your work week (on a Thursday for example), thus allowing your body to adjust throughout the first days of your diet, which are usually the most difficult.
Finally, it’s really important to drink plenty of water whether before or during detox, as water helps cleansing the body from toxins.
