What does Cub’s decision indicate that the offer Addison Russell has a contract on Friday about his future with the team?
Well, the future is less clear than it would be if they did not offer him one.
On the deadline for submitting contracts to their own arbitrary players, the cubs did what most of us expected and offered Russell offering a contract rather than making him a free agent. That does not mean Russell will play for Cubs when his suspension under the league’s violence policy ends in May.
