CT Weather: Light accumulating snow possible before Thanksgiving

There is little change in Connecticut forecast for tonight, monday morning and tuesday. It seems now that it is possible with some light snow in Northern Connecticut late in the evening and at the beginning of Monday, no real accumulation is expected. The light snow is expected to change to rain early Monday morning.

Initially, NWS predicted up to two inches of snow monday morning for Hartford, Tolland and Windham County but now no accumulation is expected. Inland sections of southern Connecticut can see snowflakes tonight but it’s largely a bit of a light rain shower without snow build-up.

And for Tuesday it is still possible to easily achieve snow accumulation for inner parts of southern Connecticut but the immediate coast only sees regular rain . The most accumulating snow is expected for northern Connecticut on Tuesday.

And since Thanksgiving Day, the temps are significantly lowered and daytime high temperatures will only be in the 20’s and it will feel much colder with the wind cooling factor. Temps will fall into the teens on Thanksgiving night. Winter has decided to arrive early this year in Connecticut so it seems.


Tuesday’s possible snow

For Northern Connecticut “Moderate, maybe heavy snow is forecast sometime late Monday night into early Tuesday night. Travel effects are expected with significantly reduced visibility and the ability to slippery, untreated The biggest risk of accumulating snow on roads will be north and west of the I-95 corridor. There is also a low risk of freezing rain pockets for a time Tuesday morning …. Tuesday morning commuting is likely to occur. South Connecticut on Tuesday is expected to rain late Monday and inland it can be mixed and changed to snow on Tuesday but along the coast, the precipitation is expected to be normal rain. Light snow accumulation is possible in inner parts of southern Connecticut. No snow collection is expected on the nearest coast.
