My wife is a bakery in the family, the careful following directions to T, like non-eyeball ingredients or pink and prod before anything is ready. On the other hand, I am the one who disturbs and feels sensitive, which is why I have junk on the backside.

But something has changed, and for the 23,582th time of my life, I have my wife to thank. She has taken patience and confidence in the process. She is the one who convinced me when he touched chopped onions in the frying pan, I can only release that saute and not mix it with a spatula without a stop like a manic.

She is also the reason I like baking cookies now.

The first time she made cranberry oatmeal chocolate cakes, I was blown away, cake, chocolatey, not too sweet, thick and buttery. Visas, she had received the recipe from the back of a Craisins package. This was because the recipe was so easily accessible, but the confectionery barrier seemed less intimidating. So I tried my hand to make these cookies &#821

1; follow step-by-step directions like a big boy – and by God if I did not figure out that I was Martha Stewart. They were so delicious that for three years I brought them to my accountants – stacked six high in a plastic bag wrapped with glitter. In short, I can not think of a more satisfying gift present.

Cranberry Oatmeal Chocolate Chocolate Cake

This recipe is Ocean Spray, with an important difference. Their recipe requires no rounded teaspoons of cake dough on the baking sheet and baking for 10-12 minutes. The few times we did here they came out almost burnt (and yes, our oven temperature is calibrated). So we suggest you do this with round tablespoons and bake closer to 10 minutes.

  • 2/3 cup of butter
  • 2.3 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup of old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cup of whole milk flour
  • 1 teaspoon. soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon. salt
  • 1 packet (6 oz.) dried cranberries
  • 2/3 cup white or half sweet chocolate pieces

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a tripod mixer or with an electric hand mixer, beat butter and sugar into a bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mix well. Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt in a separate bowl, add the butter mixture slowly, mix well. Add in dried cranberries and chocolate pieces. Use tablespoon to form yourself in spades and let go of unreasonable cooking. Bake about 10 minutes or until golden brown and cool on the stew before serving.
