Smart Displays, like Google Home Hub and Lenovo Smart Display, are amazing. They are helpful smart gadgets and one of our favorite ways to interact with Google Assistant, but since their debut last year, there have been some missing features compared to their screenless smart speaker components – one of the most remarkable sequels. Call.
However, as confirmed by Google to Android Central continued calls to Smart Displays come. Continued calls roll out over “the next few days” to all Smart Displays powered by Google Assistant in the US set up in English. Like smart speakers, this is an optional feature that users can choose in and out.
I first discovered continued conversations at my home corner in Google and it doesn’t work as it does on other assistant speakers. Having said a “Hi Google” or “OK Google” command, you can make a follow-up request without having to say “Hello Google” / “OK Google” every time. On Smart Displays, a small Assistant icon appears in the upper left corner to indicate that it is still listening.
